Watson Coleman: Enough with the Patch-up Jobs, Trenton Central High School Students Deserve a New High School

(TRENTON) – Assemblywoman Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-Mercer) released the following statement Thursday concerning Gov. Chris Christie’s decision to make funding available for repairs at Trenton Central High School, which has been deteriorating for years, rather than build a new school:

“One of the biggest problems Trenton has is Trenton Central High School, which is in such a dilapidated state; students are being robbed of an education and safe environment every day.

“It is unconscionable that the governor hasn’t recognized the severity of the lack of safety in that environment – not to mention how it impacts a student’s ability to learn – and released the necessary funds to tear down that school and build a new one. Anything less than that is a failure.”
