WATSON COLEMAN: GOVERNOR’S HELICOPTER RIDE IS NO SHARED SACRIFICE

(TRENTON) – Assemblywoman Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-Mercer) released the following statement Wednesday on Gov. Chris Christie abusing taxpayer dollars by using a state police helicopter to travel to baseball games and political meetings:

“Gov. Christie has once again proven his constant calls for shared sacrifice don’t apply to him.

“He boasts about cuts to the most vulnerable, but sees no wrong in misusing taxpayer dollars to parade around in $12.5 million taxpayer-paid helicopters, all while the rest of the state tries to cope with the financial strains forced on them by his property tax hikes.

“The governor must publicly detail his use of state police helicopter, and rectify this lapse in judgment by immediately reimbursing the taxpayers for all costs associated with personal and political trips.”
