WATSON COLEMAN: LEAKED MAP SHEDS LIGHT ON SECRETIVE GOP GROUP’S TRUE INTENTIONS

(EWING) – Assemblywoman Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-Mercer) released the following statement Friday on the www.politickernj.com report on the release of a proposed legislative map that proves the secretive Republican group Center for a Better New Jersey endorses packing minorities into their own districts:

“The release of a proposed legislative redistricting map that apparently comes from the secretive Republican group Center for a Better New Jersey at least finally sheds some light on this shadowy organization and it’s backwards plan for our state.
“We now know for sure exactly what this group stands for – the bleaching of legislative districts and the packing of minorities into separate districts that will slash the overall influence of African-Americans, Latinos and Asian-Americans.
“The evidence is becoming more and more clear – this secretive group is not looking out for the best interests of minorities living throughout New Jersey. It’s becoming quite obvious that the Center for a Better New Jersey’s name does not match its reality.
“The Republican leaders behind this group must finally disclose their donors and expenditures, because the more we know about them the more questions New Jerseyans have about their questionable goals and activities.”
