WATSON COLEMAN: NO EXCUSE FOR CHRISTIE RACE TO TOP INCOMPETENCE

(TRENTON) – Assembly Education Committee member Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-Mercer) released the following statement Wednesday after the Christie administration lost a chance to receive $400 million in Race to the Top funding by 3 points after it answered a 4.8-point question incorrectly:

“I cannot imagine what the excuse could possibly be for this horrendous error.
“The Christie administration has a responsibility to do its job competently, but it has embarrassingly failed New Jersey’s taxpayers and children.
“The Christie property tax hikes and education cuts were already bad enough, but at least we know those were purposeful. Gov. Christie needs to take complete responsibility for this error and let taxpayers know what he will do to ensure incompetence like this is not repeated.”
