Watson Coleman on SDA’s Latest Stall Tactic

(TRENTON) – Assemblywoman Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-Mercer/Hunterdon) released the following statement Friday on the latest stall tactic by the School Development Authority:

“The School Development Authority’s decision to fight the Trenton school district in court is a complete waste of taxpayer money. Gov. Christie should be even more ashamed of himself and his administration.
“The children of Trenton deserve a safe environment to learn. The teacher and staff deserve a safe place to work and educate children. We have been waiting far too long for Gov. Christie to take action, but now the only action we get is a protracted court fight.
“The SDA’s time and resources would be better spent actually resolving the situation Trenton Central High School, as it’s supposed to be doing. Instead it chooses to engage in a legal squabble. That’s a disgrace.
“This is just a stall tactic that further illustrates Gov. Christie’s lack of regard for the well-being of New Jersey’s poorest residents, even when they’re children.”
