(TRENTON) – Assemblyman Benjie E. Wimberly (D-Bergen, Passaic) issued Thursday the following statement on yesterday’s school shooting in Florida:
“There have been 18 school shootings in the U.S. in a little more than 45 days. We have to be more proactive as a state in taking a stand against gun violence. We cannot continue to keep our heads in the sand as we watch one tragic shooting after another occur across this country. We need to move quickly to protect New Jersey’s students and schools.”
“My heartfelt condolences to the school staff, the families and the community impacted by this unspeakable, senseless tragedy in Florida.
