Wimberly Statement on Announcement to Extend Existing School Based Youth Services Program to 2024

Assemblyman Benjie Wimberly (D-Bergen, Passaic) issued the following statement applauding Governor Murphy for maintaining funding for the School Based Youth Services Program (SBYSP) through the 2024 school year:

“As a parent, director, educator, coach, and State Assemblyman, I have seen first-hand the positive impact school-based youth services have on students in New Jersey. The services offered under the SBYS program provide Paterson Public School Students with healthy outlets to communicate with their peers, counselors, and community leaders.

“I commend Governor Murphy for extending this program, which will ensure students in underserved communities throughout the state continue to access important, and potentially life-saving, mental health services.”
