Wisniewski: Airport Fee Questions Another Example of ‘Beyond Control’ Port Authority

Assembly Transportation Chairman John Wisniewski (D-Middlesex) released the following statement Monday on the airport fees charged by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey:

“Once again we see an example of how the Port Authority is both anti-consumer and anti-business, negatively impacting our local economy in so many ways.

“To make matters worse, serious questions have been raised as to whether these fees are being misused for non-airport purposes. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard those concerns. Remember that AAA has raised questions about misuse of toll money.

“In the end, this underscores what I and others have been saying about the Port Authority all along – it is almost beyond control. That’s why we need top-to-bottom reform.”
