WISNIEWSKI: ASSEMBLY HEARING POSTPONED PENDING TWO-WEEK EFFORT TO REVIVE TUNNEL PROJECT

(TRENTON) – Assembly Transportation Chairman John Wisniewski (D-Middlesex) released the following statement Tuesday:

“In deference to the leadership being shown by Secretary LaHood to keep the new Hudson River commuter rail tunnel moving forward, I am postponing Thursday’s Assembly committee hearing on this issue
“The next two weeks are vitally important to New Jersey’s economic and transportation future.
“This project is too important to discard without a real effort to solve the problems facing it, so the administration owes it to the people of New Jersey to work in full cooperation and an open-mind toward alternatives.”
