Wisniewski Statement on Christie Nomination of Jamie Fox as New Jersey Transportation Commissioner

Assembly Deputy Speaker John S. Wisniewski (D-Middlesex) issued the following statement on Governor Christie’s nomination of Jamie Fox as New Jersey Commissioner of Transportation.

“Jamie Fox is a widely respected leader with whom I have had an excellent working relationship over the years. I offer him my sincere congratulations on his nomination.

“This is a critical time for transportation in our state. If we are to successfully address the challenges we face, all of us who bear responsibility for transportation policy must be prepared to leave our comfort zone as we seek transportation funding solutions that will put New Jersey on a sustainable path into the future.

“In nominating Jamie, the Governor has chosen someone who brings a deep understanding of the transportation issues facing New Jersey and the management and political skills needed to get things done. It is a surprising appointment and I hope it signals that the Governor is prepared to work with the legislature so that we can set the state’s transportation policy on a road that will carry us well into the 21st century.”
