(SAYREVILLE) – Assembly Deputy Speaker John S. Wisniewski (D-Middlesex) issued the following statement in tribute to the late Congressman Robert Roe:
“New Jersey has lost a giant with the passing of Congressman Robert Roe and my thoughts and prayers are with his family at their time of loss.
“In a life dedicated to public service Bob Roe rose to the Chairmanship of the House Public Works and Transportation Committee where he authored and guided key environmental and transportation legislation that improved the economy of our country and the quality of life for all Americans.
“His leadership was characterized by bipartisanship and compromise and his accomplishments are a testament to what can be achieved when all sides work together. He set an example that today’s Congressional representatives would do well to follow and New Jersey was blessed to have had him as one of our representatives.”
