(TRENTON) — Following Tuesday’s inauguration of Gov. Christopher J. Christie, Assembly Budget Chairman Louis D. Greenwald (D-Camden) said he is ready to work together with the new administration to seek bipartisan solutions to New Jersey’s systemic fiscal problems.
Greenwald released the following statement:
“Today is about celebrating our democracy’s time-honored tradition of the peaceful and orderly transition of government, but it’s also about the hard work of seeking solutions to New Jersey’s systemic fiscal problems.
“As Gov. Christie noted, New Jersey’s fiscal house cannot stand on its current foundation.
“The Assembly Budget Committee already is committed to holding early hearings, but we cannot do the job alone. We look forward to the new administration being active partners.
“Taxpayers don’t care whether a good idea comes from Democrats or Republicans, or from north, central or south Jersey. They just want us work together in their interests.”
