ASSEMBLY HOMELAND SECURITY CHAIRWOMAN QUIJANO STATEMENT ON DEATH OF BIN LADEN

(UNION) – Assembly Homeland Security Chairwoman Annette Quijano (D-Union) on Monday released the following statement on the death of Osama bin Laden:

“President Obama and all of the personnel involved in this operation should be commended for the intelligence and courage it took to finally achieve a measure of justice for one of our nation’s darkest days.
“However, this evokes mixed emotions as we are forced to recall that day nearly 10 years ago when Osama bin Laden became the most wanted man in the world.
“For the families that still grieve the loss of loved ones, we will continue to grieve with you. For our military men and women who have lost their lives in the decade-long pursuit of the 9/11 mastermind, we will forever be indebted to you.
“We must also be mindful that this is far from the final chapter in our battle against terrorism and reaffirm our commitment to remaining ever-vigilant.”
