GREENWALD STATEMENT ON GOV. CHRISTIE BUDGET

Assembly Budget Committee Chairman Louis D. Greenwald (D-Camden) released the following statement Monday on the Republican budget that increases taxes on New Jersey residents:

“When all is said and done, we’re looking at nearly $1 billion in Republican tax increases on hard-working New Jerseyans and the businesses that employ them. As we’ve heard in this chamber before, ‘A tax is a tax is a tax, and the people of New Jersey tired of taxes.’ But when it comes to this Republican budget, the working class people of New Jersey ain’t seen nothing yet. Hold onto your wallets. Guard your bank accounts. Grab tight onto your purses, ladies and gentlemen, because the Republicans are coming and they’re bringing a heaping load of new taxes with them.
