Gusciora on Compromise to End Stalemate, Reopen State Facilities, Resume Services

Assemblyman Reed Gusciora (D-Mercer/Hunterdon) praised the compromise agreement that will ultimately end the three-day state shutdown:

“I applaud the Speaker for sticking to his guns to ensure that this Governor, who has shown such little regard for the people of this state, was not allowed to run roughshod over Horizon’s 3.8 million ratepayers.

“It should never have come to this point to begin with, but I’m glad that it was not all in vain because at the end of the day we were able to maintain stability in our insurance market and protect critical Democratic funding priorities for pre-K, special education, domestic violence prevention, veterans services and much more.

“At least tomorrow everyone will get to enjoy our state beaches as we celebrate our nation’s independence.”
