Mazzeo: A.C. Talks Must Focus on Creating Jobs & Reducing Property Tax Burden

(ATLANTIC CITY) – Assemblyman Vince Mazzeo (D-Atlantic) released the following statement Wednesday after the Atlantic City Summit Part II:

“We heard several interesting ideas today to help Atlantic City prosper as a great tourism resort, and I look forward to continued discussion in the weeks ahead. It’s heartening to see that everyone agrees the focus must be on reinvigorating Atlantic City – and in turn Atlantic County. Cutting costs, creating jobs and controlling taxes must be our shared goal.
“We’re already seeing positive steps. I am thrilled to see Stockton College planning to expand its footprint to Atlantic City. This would help put casino workers back into good paying jobs, bring a vibrant campus to the city and spark vital economic activity to the region.
“I was also pleased the discussion also focused on the main issue I’m working on – creating jobs and reducing the property tax burden on our region’s hard-working middle-class families and seniors. We’ve already laid out several ideas to help stabilize Atlantic City and assist families, but we need to do more. I plan to soon unveil more ideas to create jobs and reduce the property tax burden to bring real change to Atlantic County.
“Creating jobs and alleviating the financial burden on residents will remain my top focus.”
