Mazzeo and Armato Statement on Additional Pre-K Expansion Funding for Northfield City School District

(TRENTON) – In response to Governor Phil Murphy’s announcement of a second round of Preschool Education Expansion Aid (PEEA) funding for 33 school districts in New Jersey, including the Northfield City school district, Assemblymen Vince Mazzeo and John Armato released the following statement:

“I couldn’t be more proud to see Northfield City school district selected to receive funding to expand and enhance its new preschool program,” said Mazzeo (D-Atlantic). “Pre-K programs like these kick start a child’s educational journey by helping them build skills they will carry throughout their time in school. This $951,030 aid will go a long way in growing the preschool program in Northfield City, which in turn helps our young learners grow.”

“By supporting preschool initiatives in New Jersey, we are raising the caliber of the education offered in our state,” said Armato (D-Atlantic). “Time and time again, research has shown preschool programs undoubtedly set students on a path for academic success by fostering a love for learning at a young age. The Northfield City school district recognized these benefits when it began offering preschool education just a few weeks ago. Now, the program will be able to expand further thanks to this funding invested in our children’s education and futures.”
