Mazzeo Statement on Committee Passage of Bill to Regulate E-Sports Betting

As legislation to regulate e-sports betting in New Jersey continues to advance in the Assembly, Assemblyman Vince Mazzeo (D-Atlantic) released the following statement:

“Sports betting in New Jersey has generated over $284.6 million in gaming revenue and $36 million in taxes. We haven’t seen the gambling industry have such success in our state since 2012, back when Atlantic City had a dozen casinos.

“Our natural next step will be to allow e-sports betting in New Jersey, which will undoubtedly add a new revenue stream for our State. I’m pleased to see this legislation move forward in the Assembly, and look forward to seeing it being signed into law.”
