In order to recognize the achievements of local residents making a difference in their community, Assemblywoman Britnee N. Timberlake (D-Essex and Passaic) will host her monthly “Hour of Power” event as part of her community empowerment series.
These events serve as a way for the community to gather and address any issues affecting the area while seeking out potential solutions, and celebrate successes.
This month’s focus will be on veterans in honor of Veterans Day. The honorees whose contributions will be recognized are:
- Stanley Edwards of East Orange;
- President and C.E.O of New Hope Village for Veterans Cheryl “Kit” Turner of Irvington;
- Licensed Social Worker Jodie Reid.
The event is open to members of the public and the press. It will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2019.
