***MULTIMEDIA PACKAGE*** MORIARTY ON CHRISTIE’S VETO OF LEGISLATION TO SAVE SENIORS FROM PROPERTY TAX RELIEF CUTS

(TRENTON) — Assemblyman Paul D. Moriarty, the sponsor of legislation (A-20) that would have eliminated Gov. Christie’s cuts to property tax relief for senior and disabled citizens and guaranteed the elimination of new and increased prescription drug fees, issued a multimedia package Thursday on Gov. Christie’s veto.

The multimedia package consists of a video of Moriarty’s response to the veto, audio of same, a transcript his comments and a press release discussing the veto in more detail.

The video can be accessed directly via our Web site — www.assemblydems.com — or by clicking here.

The audio file is available upon request.

A press release on the veto can be found at either www.assemblydems.com or by visiting the Assembly Democrats on Facebook.

A transcript of Moriarty’s (D-Gloucester) comments follow:

“It’s unfortunate that the governor has decided to veto this legislation. It’s, quite frankly, disturbing as well. But at least now we know where the governor is.

“The governor has chosen to back 16,000 millionaires over 600,000 seniors.

“I think it’s unfortunate. We hope to continue to try to change his mind and I think, if he’s wise, he will change his mind.”
