Pintor Marin to Continue as Chair of the Assembly Budget Committee for the 221st Legislative Session

TRENTON (January 24, 2024) — Assembly Speaker Craig J. Coughlin has named Assemblywoman Eliana Pintor Marin to continue in her role as chair of the Assembly Budget Committee in the new legislative session.

The Assembly Budget Committee reviews the Governor’s proposed budget plan and crafts the Legislature’s appropriations bill, which is the state’s annual fiscal spending law.

“I am honored to be entrusted as chair of the Budget Committee for the 221st Legislative Session,” said Assemblywoman Pintor Marin (D-Essex). “I strive to make my girls and New Jerseyans proud. Governor Phil Murphy will outline his priorities; then it will be the responsibility of the Legislature to have a robust review of it with testimony from the public and department chairs during budget hearings.”

Pintor Marin has served as Budget Committee chair since 2018, and has been a member of the General Assembly since 2013.
