Speaker Coughlin Names Assemblywoman Tucker as Chair of the Military and Veteran’s Affairs Committee in the 221st Legislative Session

(TRENTON) — Assembly Speaker Craig J. Coughlin has appointed Assemblywoman Cleopatra Tucker to continue in the role of chair of the Assembly Military and Veteran’s Affairs Committee in the new legislative session.

The Assembly Military and Veterans’ Affairs Committee oversees all aspects of state military readiness, the National Guard, and matters related to veterans and their service.

“As the chair of the Assembly Military and Veterans’ Affairs Committee, I am honored to lead in the crucial task of monitoring every facet of New Jersey’s military preparedness, as well as overseeing the National Guard and ensuring the welfare of our veterans while honoring their service,” said Assemblywoman Tucker (D-Essex, Union). “Together, we will ensure a resilient and supportive environment for those who have served our nation with dedication and valor.”

In this session, Tucker also serves as the Vice Chair of the Assembly Human Services Committee. She has been a member of the General Assembly since 2008.
