WAGNER ON CHRISTIE’S PARAMUS TOWN HALL: THE GOVERNOR IS MISSING THE POINT

The Discussion He Needs to Be Having is How to Create Jobs, Jobs, Jobs

In light of Governor Christie’s visit to the heart of her legislative district today, Assemblywoman Connie Wagner called on the Governor to refocus his priorities on what matters most to residents – job creation and economic stimulation.

“The Governor is touting his town hall meetings as a means to ‘meet with New Jersey families to listen and discuss the big things facing New Jersey: fiscal discipline, pension and benefits, and education reform.’ The Governor listed three priorities for his administration and should have added a fourth: job creation.

“Many of our neighbors have been out of work for months and even when they do find a job it can’t pay all the bills of the typical New Jersey family.

“Over the past week the Legislature has worked in a bi-partisan manner to advance roughly 30 bills to the Governor’s desk for his signature. I welcome the Governor to my town and am glad that the people of Bergen County have a chance to hear their Governor speak. I ask him to sign these bi-partisan bills into law and put Bergen County and New Jersey back to work.”
