WAGNER & RUDDER: ‘SCHOOL BUS ADS WILL HELP SCHOOL BUDGETS’

Assemblywoman Connie Wagner (D-Bergen) and Assemblyman Scott Rudder (R-Burlington) had the following published Thursday in The Record of Bergen County:

“Across the state, school funding has been cut dramatically this year, forcing many local school boards to eliminate programs, reduce services and increase class sizes. There are now districts in New Jersey that are charging $750 per child for courtesy busing because school boards were faced with difficult decisions in cutting transportation costs.

“What about the family who cannot afford these costs? What happens to their children? Where is the concern for the security and well-being of these students? Next year’s budget may be equally difficult, if not more. These are extraordinary times that require extraordinary measures. Taxpayers are demanding that we reduce taxes. They are also asking us to find other ways to get the job done…”
