Assembly Panel to Take Up Measure Banning Controversial Conversion Therapy Practice for Minors in NJ

The Assembly Women and Children Committee will hold a hearing on Thursday, June 13, to consider a bipartisan measure that would ban the controversial practice known as “conversion therapy” for minors in New Jersey.

The measure (A-3371), sponsored on the democratic side by Assembly members Tim Eustace, Herb Conaway, Jr., M.D., Reed Gusciora and John Burzichelli, is designed to protect minors from being forced to undergo the practice in an attempt to change their sexual orientation.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. in committee room 16 on the 4th floor of the Statehouse Annex in Trenton.
