Speaker Coughlin Names Assemblyman DeAngelo as Chair of the Telecommunications and Utilities Committee in the 221st Legislative Session

(TRENTON) — Assembly Speaker Craig J. Coughlin has appointed Assemblyman Wayne DeAngelo to continue as chair of the Assembly Telecommunications and Utilities Committee in the new legislative session.

The Telecommunications and Utilities Committee is entrusted with overseeing every facet of the telecommunications and utilities industry in New Jersey, including issues related to cable television, the internet, public utilities, telecommunication technologies, and the energy industry.

“I am honored to continue my work overseeing New Jersey’s dynamic telecommunications and utilities industry, managing the changing landscape of services integral to our daily lives,” said Assemblyman DeAngelo (D- Mercer, Middlesex). “Together with the other members of this committee, I plan to craft legislation addressing these crucial issues, ensuring the advancement and resilience of our state’s essential services and technologies.”

In this session, DeAngelo also serves as Deputy Speaker and vice chair of the Assembly Military and Veteran’s Affairs Committee. He has been a member of the General Assembly since 2008.
